Our booth’s theme was essential oils. It educated people on the benefits of essential oils in treating both mental health issues and everyday things like stress and exhaustion. We were trying to “sell” essential oils and show the world their benefits.
The event was larger than I expected. There were around 20 student booths running and talking to people about whatever their subject matter may be. There was a band (Civil Conflict, an awesome nardcore punk band) playing and food being sampled as well. Local organizations also created booths to educate the public/do outreach. Most of the attendees were freshmen and sophomores from the P.E. classes, but other students looked around at lunch.
Attendees were very receptive to the booths. There was more participation than I would’ve expected. People were taking samples of whatever was being given and participating in activities and games. I’d say the event was a success, I’m still surprised at the amount of participation, as students tend to not interact with the activities in this type of thing.
If my booth were an actual business, I’d still be conveying the benefits of essential oils, I’d just focus on the physical more than the mental aspects. There are far more physical benefits of essential oils than mental, but our booth was themed to focus on the mental aspects. I would give out samples and have tester bottles out for people to sample/smell. I might also make pamphlets that described in detail how essential oils are beneficial, and which oils can be used for what.
